Weekend foreCAST: And Toto Too, Lake Dillon, TC Lafayette, and Boulders Dinner Theatre

Denver, Theatre, Reviews Of the shows opening this weekend, these are the ones we want to see. These could be the best shows of the year or these shows could end up being terrible. As always we encourage you to chime in with your thoughts on our list and what shows you are seeing this weekend.

HIS CHOICE: Boeing Boeing at Lake Dillon Theatre Company

Lake Dillon Theatre Company, Denver theatre theater He Said/She Said Critiques We just love a good farce. Boeing Boeing has all the ingredients for a successful evening of fast-paced hilarity, including sexual secrets, complex schemes to keep them secret, and a painfully punny title. We think that the talented cast and the commendable Lake Dillon company are sure to have a fly-away hit on their hands with this one.

HER CHOICE: Machines Like Us at Theater Company of LaFayette

Theater Company of LaFayette Denver theatre He Said/She Said CritiquesThe Theater Company of Lafayette presents two offerings in repertory — a full-length play called Getta Betta, by Don Fried, and a collection of  short plays comissionsed by the company. This celebration of the 90th anniversary of the coining of the term “robot” is sure to be new, fresh, and unique!

Not to be missed: Car Talk at And Toto, Too

He Said She Said Denver Theatre TheaterAnd Toto, Too presents Car Talk, by Lucile Lichtblau at the Denver Victorian Playhouse. This play presents a story in the form of those intimate and life-changing conversations that we’ve all had when we’re trapped in the car with someone and have to talk it out. This show has a sweet and simple premise, and promises to be touching.

Not to be missed: Swing! at Boulder’s Dinner Theatre

Denver theatre He Said/She Said CritiquesSwing! is pure fun — tight and exciting harmonies accompany some of the most energetic dancing you’ll see all year. Nominated for six Tony awards, this is an all-dancing revue that is sure to have you tapping your toes and holding your breath as dancers fly through the air onstage. We think BDT is well- equipped to handle this high-energy, big band dance show!
