Weekend foreCAST: Equinox and Spotlight

Denver, Theatre, Reviews Of the shows opening this weekend, these are the ones we want to see. These could be the best shows of the year or these shows could end up being terrible. As always we encourage you to chime in with your thoughts on our list and what shows you are seeing this weekend.

HIS CHOICE: Little Shop of Horrors at Equinox

He Said She Said Denver Theater TheatreMost of us are familiar with the 1986 film version of this musical staring Rick Moranis. In one of the most relatable rags-to-riches stories ever, meek orphan Seymour stumbles upon fame and fortune when he picks up a strange and unusual blood thirsty plant. He’s faced with the tough decision of feeding it increasingly large quantities of blood, or losing his fame, money, and the girl of his dreams.

We’ve heard that this production is making some strange and unusual departures, and we can’t wait to see if they pay off!

HER CHOICE: Run for Your Wife at Spotlight

From wikipedia: The story of London cab driver John Smith, with two wives, two lives and a very precise schedule for juggling them both. With one wife at home in Streatham and another at home in Wimbledon, and with occupants of the flat upstairs at the latter location.

Trouble brews when Smith is mugged and ends up in hospital, where both of his addresses surface, causing both the Streatham and Wimbledon police to investigate. Having upset his schedule, Smith becomes hopelessly entangled in his attempts with his lazy layabout neighbour upstairs in Wimbledon, to explain himself to his wives and two suspicious police officers.

This remount hopes to be as successful as it’s earlier incarnations in ’99, ’02, and ’07, so get your tickets now!
