Weekend foreCAST: Stories on Stage and Spark

Denver, Theatre, Reviews Of the shows opening this weekend, these are the ones we want to see. These could be the best shows of the year or these shows could end up being terrible. As always we encourage you to chime in with your thoughts on our list and what shows you are seeing this weekend.

HIS CHOICE: A Colorado Collection at Stories on Stage

From the Stories on Stage website: The Rocky Mountain region’s thriving literary scene is showcased as four top-notch Colorado writers strut their stuff. And just to keep this performance feeling close to home, local actors fill out the bill. Randy Moore reads “It’s November 1880, and the Angel of Death is Having a Bad Day” by Joanne Greenburg; Steven Cole Hayes reads “The Final Conversation” by Robert Garner McBrearty; Kendra Celeste Hughes reads “The Color of the Impression” by Laura Pritchett; and Leigh Miller reads “Location” by Nick Arvin.

A Colorado Collection was one of our picks in our Fall foreCAST. Check out our other picks!

HER CHOICE: Two Gentlemen of Verona at Spark

From the Spark website: Two friends, Proteus and Valentine, are in love with two girls, Julia and Silvia. But then they’re not, or Proteus is in Love with Valentine’s girl, and then Valentine is in trouble, but Proteus isn’t, but then he is, and Julia’s a guy? Wait, no she just dressed like a guy so she can hang out with Proteus, but Proteus doesn’t like guys, but he loved Valentine, but not like that. Confused yet? You won’t be when you check out Shakespeare’s quick-witted comedy about two guys who forget the cardinal rule of friendship: “Bro’s before Ho’s.”
