Weekend foreCAST: Curious and Edge

Of the shows opening this weekend, these are the ones we want to see. These could be the best shows of the year or these shows could end up being terrible. As always we encourage you to chime in with your thoughts on our list and what shows you are seeing this weekend.

HIS CHOICE: RED at Curious

From the Curious website: Winner of six Tony Awards, including Best Play, RED is set in the late 1950s as renowned painter Mark Rothko struggles to complete his commissioned Seagram Murals for the Four Seasons in New York City. A scintillating discourse flies between Rothko and his newly hired assistant as they stretch, pull and paint canvas while arguing the nuances of creativity and inspiration, the legacy of artists, and the intersection of art and commerce. RED is an intense portrait of a troubled and brilliant mind, of a master painter keenly aware of the precarious balance of his artistic crown, seen through the eyes of the artist into the painting. RED invites you to feel the exhilaration of the act, experience a captivating expression of ideas, and dares you to leave unmoved.
