Weekend foreCAST: Footloose, Legally Blonde, and This Week’s Theatre Openings

Of the shows opening this weekend, these are the ones we want to see. These could be the best shows of the year or these shows could end up being terrible. As always we encourage you to chime in with your thoughts on our list and what shows you are seeing this weekend.

HIS CHOICE: Footloose at Performance Now Theatre Company

From the Performance Now website: When Ren McCormack moves to a small town where the local government has banned dancing and rock music, he leads his classmates around the law and Reverend Shaw Moore to have a real senior prom.
This romantic comedy takes place in the 1980s and is set to popular songs including “Almost Paradise,” “Holding Out For a Hero, “Let’s Hear it For the Boy,” and of course the title song “Footloose”.

HER CHOICE: Legally Blonde at Arvada Center

From the Arvada Center website: Perfectly pink and infused with fun, frivolity, and a come-from-behind, feel-good story, this upbeat musical comedy tells the tale of Elle Woods, a blonde sorority darling, who turns the “stereo type” upside down and heads to Harvard Law School to win back her boyfriend, a big case, and our hearts. Based on the 2001 movie starring Reese Witherspoon.
