Summer foreCAST: The Love Potion at Spark

Spark Theater, Love Potion, Denver, Theatre, Theater, Reviews

From the Spark website: The Italians know a thing or two about amore, and if the ends justify the means, then the dark streak in this sparking tour of Italy certainly justifies some serious laughs! Callimaco falls desperately in love with a married woman, so he decides to get her elderly husband, her mother, and her priest tangled up in one big plot to score a night with the woman of his dreams. We invite you this summer to enjoy a refreshing love story set on the piazza, where everyone ends up happy, but it’s quite a wild ride to get there!

WHEN: July 27 – August 25, 2012

WHY WE ARE EXCITED: One of the newest theatre companies in town, Spark impressed us during their first season with their creativity in using their unique space and applying their own mark to classic drama. The Love Potion, adapted from Niccolo Machiavelli’s Italian comedy, “La Mandragola,” kicks off their second season, and we’re looking forward to seeing what they do with it!
