10/21 & 10/22 Consider the Oyster at Aurora Fox

The Aurora Fox will be holding auditions for Consider the Oyster (directed by Bev Newcomb-Madden) on Sunday, October 21st from 5:30-7:30 pm and Monday, October 22nd from 6pm-9pm. By appointment only. Call (303) 739-1970.

Available roles include 2 men (late 20’s – early 30’s), 2 women (late 20’s – early 30’s) and 1 woman (late 40’s – early 50’s). Specifically:

GENE WALSH (Act 1)- In his late 20s, early 30s. Played by a male actor.

GENE WALSH (Act 2)- In her late 20s, early 30s. Played by a female actor.

ELIOT PALLONE – GENE’s roommate, around the same age.

MARISA CARTER – GENE’s fiancée, around the same age.

KAY CARTER – MARISA’s mother, in her late 40s, early 50s.

If you are auditioning for the roles of Gene, make suggestions or audition with the ‘other you’. Try to find someone of opposite gender but similar facial structure and body type. It is essential that the audience believe Gene’s transformation.

Members of Actors Equity will be considered for any roles with at least 2 contracts available. Please prepare a 1-minute comedic monologue. Also, please have knowledge of the script. Copies are available for 1 day loan at the Aurora Fox 9am-4pm M-F or during performances. Rehearsals begin January 21, 2013. Performances are February 15th – March 10th, 2013.
