Announces Auditions for ONCE UPON A MATTRESS

Friday, October 26 (6:30-10:00pm); Saturday, October 27 (12:00-5:00pm)
Callbacks Sunday, October 28 (6:00)

AUDITION LOCATION:
Little Theater Dance Studio, 9142 W. Ken Caryl Ave., Littleton, CO 80127
(Please do not call Little Theatre)

ALL ROLES ARE AVAILABLE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF QUEEN AGGRAVAIN
We are looking to cast 26 adults in this high-energy comedic musical.   Strong dancers and singers will be needed.  There are some adult, non-dancing roles available, though all roles will require some movement.  Please see the list of characters below.

Princess Winnifred – Our unlikely heroine.  Striking, unique.   Age 20 – 35 (mezzo/belt)
Prince Dauntless –  “The Drab,” ever-single, ever-suffering prince of the kingdom.  Age 20-35 (baritone/tenor)
King Sextimus the Silent – Mute King, comedic, pantomime abilities.  Age 50-75
Sir Harry – consummate knight in shining armor. Age  25 – 40 (baritone/tenor)
Lady Larkin – picture-perfect lady-in-waiting.  Age 20 – 35 (mezzo/soprano)
Minstrel – Show’s “narrator.” Timeless  (tenor)
Jester – Court Jester, somewhat new to the scene, thick with the King and the Minstrel.  Age 18-35 (baritone/tenor)
Wizard – Queen’s confidant, regrets leaving life as an entertainer.  Age 40-60
Ensemble of knights, ladies-in-waiting, servants, etc.  Strong dance and vocal abilities required for all ensemble members.  Featured roles will be filled from the ensemble.

PREPARE:
*16 – 32 bars of a musical theatre song in the style of the show
*Please bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. No taped music or a cappella.
*Please bring a headshot, resume, and list of conflicts.
*Dance auditions will take place at callbacks (Sunday evening).
*Be prepared to sing or read from the script/score.

REHEARSALS:
All rehearsals will take place in the Littleton/Highlands Ranch area.
Rehearsals will begin Saturday, November 12 and will take place on Saturdays and Sundays during the day.
There may also be a few select music rehearsals on weeknights
All actors are paid a $150 stipend.

TECH WEEK:
February 4-7 at the Lakewood Cultural Center (Wadsworth & Alameda); Call time 6:00pm

PERFORMANCES:
February 8-24 at the Lakewood Cultural Center
Fridays – 7:30 pm (6:00 call)
Saturdays – 2:00 pm & 7:30 pm (12:30 & 6:00 calls)
Sundays – 2:00 pm (12:30 call)
Possible Extra Shows: Thursdays February 14 & 21, and Sundays February 10 &17

Click on either October 26 or 27
Click the availability button on the right
Select an audition time
On the lower left side, verify the audition time and select “Continue”
Fill in the required information
Hit “Continue”
