Spark Theater announces auditions for it’s world premiere comedy:
The Singing Room:
a play with karaoke
by Sean Paul Mahoney
directed by Michael Emmitt
Auditions will be held on: Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 5-8pm
Callbacks are scheduled for Sunday, January 13th from 5–8pm

Auditions will be held at:
985 Santa Fe Dr.
Please bring a headshot and resume. Actors will be given cold readings from the script at the audition, and are asked to prepare 30 seconds of an a cappella song that you would rock at karaoke. We are looking for character voices, not necessarily trained vocalists.
Rehearsals will begin in March. No rehearsals Thursday-Saturdays.
The Singing Room opens Friday, April 12th and plays through Saturday, May 18
Performances are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.
From the team that brought you last season’s Casual Encounters/Missed Connections comes a play about finding yourself in the most unlikely of places. What looks like your typical 20-something’s birthday party at a karaoke bar turns out to be a night that makes everyone question who they are, where they come from, and what the hell to do next. Featuring live karaoke at every performance that’s never the same twice, this show promises to leave you singing and laughing when you least expect it.
ROLES TO BE CAST (no roles have been pre-cast, all positions are volunteer)
10 Roles are Available of varying ages, genders, and types… the kind of folk you might find in a karaoke bar. Professional singers through “character” voices encouraged to audition.
We are specifically looking for an Asian actress, aged 30+ with a strong singing voice for the owner of the bar.
Email Spark Theater Artistic Director, Michael Emmitt, at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule an appointment.
