Coal Creek Community Theater Announces Auditions for Brighton Beach Memoirs By Neil Simon

LOUISVILLE, CO – Coal Creek Community Theater (CCCT) announces auditions for the 1st Show of their 23rd season, Brighton Beach Memoirs, by Neil Simon, directed by Larisa Netterlund.
Auditions will take place on January 9th and 10th, from 7-10pm at the Louisville Center for the Arts. Callbacks, if necessary will take place on January 11th from 7-10pm. Roles available for 4 women, including 2 girls (aged 13 and 16), and 3 men, including 2 boys (aged 14 and 18).

Appointment:Auditions will be held in small groups with 30 minutes slots starting at 7:00, 7:30, 8:00, and 8:30 each night. Email

No preparation necessary. Headshots and resumes welcome but not required. Details: Typically, Monday-Thursday from 7:00-10:00pm (with occasional weekends)Actors will be expected to help with set build and strike. Please come prepared to note all conflicts between January 11th and March 11th.

Synopsis:The first in Neil Simon’s semi-autobiographical series about Eugene Jerome, Brighton Beach Memoirs is set in the Brighton Beach section of Brooklyn, New York in 1937. It is a coming-of-age comedy that focuses on Eugene Morris Jerome, a Polish-Jewish American teenager who experiences puberty, sexual awakening, and a search for identity. Eugene is forced to handle growing up as he tries to deal with his family, including his parents Kate and Jack, his older brother Stanley, Kate’s sister Blanche and her two daughters, Nora and Laurie, who have been living with the Jerome’s since the death of their father.
