This scalding comedy took Broadway and London by storm. Here is David Mamet at his very best, writing about small-time, cutthroat real estate salesmen trying to grind out a living by pushing plots of land on reluctant buyers in a never-ending scramble for their share of the American dream. Revived on Broadway in 2006, this masterpiece of American drama became a celebrated film starring Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Alec Baldwin and Alan Arkin.
· We need 7 strong male actors who can play tough 45-65 year olds.
· We will be doing cold-readings from script in pairs, small groups and individually.
· It is strongly recommended that you know the play when you come to auditions. Mamet’s language is unique, rough and wonderful. When given sides to cold read out of context, you’ll be glad you are familiar with the script.
· Non-Equity/No compensation.
DATES of PRODUCTION: Fridays/Saturdays, April 26 to May 18, one Sunday matinee on May 5, and a Monday industry night on April 29.
DATES/TIMES of AUDITIONS: Auditions will begin at 7 p.m. The theater will be open by 6:30 p.m. Please come early on either Wednesday, Jan. 9th or Thursday, Jan. 10th to fill out audition form, turn in a resume and headshot (if you have one), look over what you’ll be reading and meet director and some of production staff. Feel free to e-mail us at: MametAtTCL@aol.com to confirm your day of choice. Be ready to have fun… and swear quite a bit.
DATES of REHEARSALS: We won’t start regular rehearsals until March 11th, but will have one or two readings before then; those dates to be determined by schedule of selected cast.
** IF you will have any conflicts during tech week (April 21-25), you cannot be cast. Sorry. This will be a tight, ensemble group and nobody can miss production week festivities.**
