Announces AUDITIONS for

FOOTLOOSE

AUDITION DATES:

Friday, March 30 (6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.)

Saturday, March 31 (3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.)

CALLBACKS: Sunday, April 1 (6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.)

AUDITION LOCATION:

Little Theater Dance Studio, 9142 W. Ken Caryl Ave., Littleton, CO 80127

(Please do not call Little Theatre)

ALL ROLES ARE AVAILABLE.

We are looking to cast 25-30 adults and young adults in this high energy, dance heavy musical.

There are no roles available for anyone under the age of 14.

There are a few adult, non-dance roles available. Please see the list of characters below.

A strong group of young (or young-looking) adults with strong vocal and strong dance skills will be needed for several lead, supporting and ensemble roles.

Ren McCormack – a teen boy from Chicago (tenor) – Lead

Ethel McCormack – his mother (mezzo) – Supporting *non-dance

Rev. Shaw Moore – the minister of Beaumont (baritone) – Lead *non-dance

Vi Moore – his wife (mezzo) – Supporting *non-dance

Aerial Moore – their daughter (mezzo) – Lead

Chuck Cranston – Ariel’s bad boy boyfriend (tenor) – Supporting

Rusty – Ariel’s best friend (mezzo) – Supporting

Urleen – Ariel’s friend (mezzo) – Supporting

Wendy Jo – Ariel’s friend (mezzo) – Supporting

Lulu Warnicker – Ren’s aunt – *non-dance

Wes Warnicker – her husband – *non-dance

Coach Dunbar – high school gym teacher – *non-dance

Eleanor Dunbar – his wife – *non-dance

Irene – lead singer of a country band

Cowboy Bob – a cowboy in a country western bar

Some supporting roles and the remaining ensemble will fill out roles as members of a choir, parishioners, townspeople, high school students and country western dancers.

PREPARE:

16 – 32 bars of a pop or contemporary musical theatre song

Please bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. No taped music or a cappella allowed. Also, please bring a headshot, resume, and list of conflicts.

Dance auditions will take place at callbacks.

REHEARSALS:

All rehearsals will take place in the Littleton/Highlands Ranch area.

Rehearsals will begin Saturday, April 14 and will take place on Saturdays and Sundays during the day.

There may also be a few select music rehearsals on weeknights

All actors are paid a stipend.

TECH WEEK:

June 11-14, 2012 at the Lakewood Cultural Center (Wadsworth & Alameda); Call time 6:00pm

PERFORMANCES:

June 15-July 1, 2012 at the Lakewood Cultural Center

Fridays – 7:30 pm (6:00 call)

Saturdays – 2:00 pm & 7:30 pm (12:30 & 6:00 calls)

Sundays – 2:00 pm (12:30 call)

SYNOPSIS:

When Ren McCormack moves to a small town where the local government has banned dancing and rock music, he leads his classmates around the law and Reverend Shaw Moore to have a real senior prom.
