Announcing Auditions for the Colorado Premiere of
BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON
What is that show? It sounds weird. BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON is a socio-political emo-rock bio-musical based on the life of America’s 7th President. After a heralded extended run at New York’s Public Theatre, the show transferred to Broadway and opened to even greater critical acclaim. Now Ben Dicke, local actor, director and producer, is pleased to give the show one of its first Regional treatments anywhere in the country. To listen to some of the music and read a synopsis of the show, check out: http://mtishows.com/show_detail.asp?showid=000395.
What are you looking for? I didn’t study Musical Theatre. We need 9 actors and 3 musicians in our cast and all types, ages, and ethnicities are invited to the open call as the show requires plenty of room for crazy characters, rock vocalists and colorful… skins. Please prepare 32 measures of a SONG THAT ROCKS with sheet music in the appropriate key. NO A CAPELLA SINGING. If you play an instrument, please bring it. We will provide an accompanist and a guitar amp for you to plug in your axe. A picture and resume are HIGHLY encouraged but, not required.
Where will these auditions be held? Isn’t the Fox out on East Colfax?!? Because we want a variety of performers, we decided to hold our auditions at the HI-DIVE Rock Club at 7 South Broadway in Denver. Please email Ben at email@example.com to sign up for an audition slot. We’ll start at 6 PM on Monday, May 28. Also, you’re more than welcome to come hang out and have a drink or two before or after your audition slot.
What if I’m busy on May 28? That’s Memorial Day, you idiots. Callbacks will be held at the Aurora Fox on Monday, June 4. If, for some reason, you can’t make our initial auditions, let us know in your email and we’ll try to accommodate you with another audition time.
You paying anything? Yep. All actors and musicians will be paid a weekly salary.
