Agatha Christie’s classic thriller
Murder on the Nile

Auditions will be held on: Saturday, June 23, 2012
Two cold-reading sessions will be scheduled from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Please bring a headshot and resume and list of conflicts starting July 5th through opening.
Rehearsals will begin July 5th and will be a combination of weekend and weeknight rehearsals.
Murder on the Nile opens Saturday, August 18th and plays through Saturday, September 22nd.
Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., Sundays at 6:30 p.m.
Performances are held at the John Hand Theater in Lowry.
All aboard for mystery and murder! Once again Agatha Christie, the Queen of Crime, has developed an ingenious plot that will keep you guessing until the very end! After Simon Mostyn leaves his fiancée Jacqueline to marry heiress Kay Ridgeway, Jacqueline plots revenge and follows the couple on their honeymoon aboard a paddle steamer down the Nile. When Kay ends up dead, murder is the only answer, and Jacqueline is the only suspect…or so it seems. For also aboard are a motley group of passengers who are all revealed to have mysterious connections to Kay and her fortune.

Kay Ridgeway (Female late 20’s – early 30’s) A wealthy socialite – beautiful and charismatic.
Simon Mostyn (Male late 20’s – late 30’s) Kay’s new husband. Working class but getting used to his new life.
Jacqueline DeSeverac (Female late 20’s early 30’s) Simon’s ex-fiance and Kay’s ex-friend.
Canon Pennefather (Male late 30’s – early 50’s) Kay’s guardian, a clergyman, and amateur detective.
William Smith (Male late 20’s – late 30’s) – A impertinent young man, determined to help the working class.
Mrs. Ffoliot-ffoulkes (Female late 40’s to early 60’s) – A wealthy socialite – rude, unpleasant, and entitled.
Christine Grant (Female early to late 20’s) – Niece to Mrs. F-f. Sweet, young, and innocent.
Dr. Bessner (Male late 30’s – late 40’s) – The worst kind of physician, one with a grudge.
Louise (Female late 20’s – early 30’s) – Kay’s personal maid, innocently devious.
**There are also roles for the ship’s CAPTAIN, MANAGER, STEWARD, a BEAD SELLER, and an EGYPTIAN POLICE OFFICER. These are smaller roles and can be male or female ages late 20’s and up.
All actors will receive a stipend at the close of the show.
