Phamaly Theatre Company announces auditions for the fifth installment of its original sketch comedy, VOX PHAMALIA, directed by Edith Weiss. Vox PHAMALIA: Quadrapalooza (2012) won “Best Variety Show” by Westword, and Director Edith Weiss won Best Director of a Play for the production by both Westword and the Denver Post Ovation Awards. Vox PHAMALIA is a writing-to-performance workshop for performers with disabilities, in which the actors involved collaborate in writing their own comedic sketches and monologues, centered around the absurdities of life one encounters while living with a disability. These are composed in collaboration with Director Edith Weiss and Assistant Director Jeremy Palmer. Sketches are rehearsed over several weeks, culminating in 7 ticketed performances for the public at the Avenue Theater.
Needed are 15 physically, emotionally and/or cognitively challenged individuals
of all ages (18 and up) and cultural backgrounds.
Tuesday, August 14, 6 – 8 pm (There will not be a callback date)
