The Byers-Evans House Theatre Company is holding auditions for A Doll’s House

Performance dates: Friday and Saturday nights from November 16th – December 15th, 2012
The Byers-Evans House Theatre Company is holding non-equity auditions for Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House. Perhaps the most controversial play of the Victorian Era, A Doll’s House challenges the norms of marriage and the responsibilities of women. This play shocked Victorian audiences and forever changed the depiction of women in theatre. . This play will be performed at The Byers-Evans House Museum, set among the original family’s possessions.
Auditions will be held by appointment at the Byers-Evans House Museum, 1310 Bannock Street, Denver on August 6th and 7th from 7:00-10:00 P.M. Callbacks will be on August 8th from 7:00-10:00 P.M. Monologues are not required, but, please familiarize yourself with the play and bring a resume and headshot. All cast members are paid a stipend.
Rehearsals will be held at the Byers Evans House Museum.
Roles are available for:
Nora, his wife
Doctor Rank, a family friend
Mrs. Linde, Nora’s friend
Nils Krogstad, a bank employee
Anne, their nurse and housemaid
Ages for the roles are non-specific.
