The Aurora Fox Announces Auditions for The Color Purple

The Aurora Fox will be holding auditions for THE COLOR PURPLE – The Musical About Love (directed by donnie l. betts) on Monday, September 17, 2012 from 6pm – 9pm. Available roles include:
5 women (ages 18-45), 2 girls (ages 12-17), 1 man (age 18-40), 3 men (age 30-60), 1 girl (age 8-14) and 1 boy (age 8-16). There are five Equity contracts available for this show. All auditions are by appointment only. To schedule an audition appointment, actors should call (303) 739-1970.
Looking for strong actors with soulful, bluesy, gospel voices with passion, power and range. All actors should prepare a 1-minute dramatic monologue and a song in the style of the show or from the show/role they are interested in. Bring sheet music in correct key; an accompanist will be provided but will not transpose. No cd’s. No unaccompanied singing. All performers must be able to move. Bring headshot and resume, stapled together. Performers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds are encouraged to audition.
Vocal scores and scripts are available for perusal on request. Rehearsals start March 11, 2013. Performances are April 12-May 12, 2013 on the Aurora Fox mainstage.
