Summer foreCAST: Evita at Town Hall Arts Center

WHEN: September 16 – October 16, 2011

From the Town Hall website: Argentina’s controversial First Lady is the subject of this dynamic musical masterpiece.  Driven by ambition and blessed with charisma, Eva Peron was destined to leave a fascinating political legacy unique in the 20th century.  Told through a compelling score that fuses haunting chorales with exuberant Latin, pop and jazz influences, Evita creates an arresting theatrical portrait as complex as the woman herself.

WHY WE ARE EXCITED: We have been impressed with several of Town Hall’s productions that seemed a bit too big for their intimate space at first glance. With clever designers, experienced directors and stellar casts, we always end up feeling satisfied with their portrayal of big shows in their medium-sized space. We can’t wait to see Nick Sugar work his magic with this beast of a musical. With some of the best of Lloyd Webber’s music and lots of opportunity for hot dance numbers, we’re all packed for our trip to Buenos Aires.
